The Brescia section of Italia Nostra will host an exhibition titled “Fragile Waters. Unbreakable Equations,” curated by Fortunato D’Amico, at the Conference Hall in Via Campo Marte 3. The inauguration will take place on May 16, 2024, at 6:00 PM.
Exhibition Hours
The exhibition will be open from May 16 to May 30, 2024, with continuous hours from Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. It will remain closed on Sundays.
Presentation of the Book “Fragile Waters. Unbreakable Equations”
During the exhibition’s inauguration, the book of the same name, published by Mondadori and curated by Fortunato D’Amico, will be presented. The event will be moderated by architect Rossana Bettinelli, president of the Brescia section of Italia Nostra.
Themes of the Exhibition
Pina Inferrera is known for her works that address themes related to nature and the human-altered environment. Through her photographs, the artist invites reflection on the natural habitat and human behavior, promoting responsible use of territorial resources, including water resources.
The exhibited works explore the delicate balance of the planetary ecosystem, seeking to raise awareness of environmental issues through beauty and aesthetic harmony. The exhibition presents a selection of photographs that primarily focus on water and reflections, evoking Alpine landscapes and places already immortalized by artists like Claude Monet.
Artist Pina Inferrera’s Biography
– Pina Inferrera has always focused her research on the human-altered environment and the relationship between humans and nature.
– The artist uses photography for an objective analysis of environmental issues without sacrificing the poetic vision.
– She has explored other forms of expression such as video and installations, using innovative materials defined as “Nature created by humans.”

Curator Fortunato D’Amico’s Profile
Fortunato D’Amico is an independent art curator with a degree in Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Milan, under the guidance of Germano Celant and Ernesto d’Alfonso. He has taught design and architecture at the Polytechnic Universities of Turin and Milan and is currently involved in various academic courses.
D’Amico has organized numerous international workshops and multidisciplinary events in the fields of contemporary art, architecture, social science, and ecology. He was one of the promoters of the Dedalo Minosse International Architecture Award and the Vergilius d’Oro in Mantua.
Among his notable achievements are exhibitions at foreign cultural institutions, as well as collateral projects at the Venice Biennale. From 2010 to 2018, he curated a blog on lastampa.it dedicated to culture and nature. Recently, he directed exhibitions such as “Eternal Feminine Eternal Change” at the Florence Biennale in 2021.
D’Amico writes essays for various publishing houses and is one of the curators of the Pistoletto-Cittadellarte Foundation. He currently chairs the non-profit association “Pensare Globalmente Agire Localmente,” which is committed to promoting the goals of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda.
