Fraudsters Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Region Scam Alert

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to military magazines of the arms.

They are not military personnel but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, regular police, fire brigade, or municipal officers.

How to recognize scams and how to respond

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after collecting money, disappear.
