Fraudsters Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
