Fraudulent Calls Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area

They impersonate carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to Law Enforcement magazines.

They are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to respond

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be alert and immediately notify the carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect being targeted by individuals who, after taking the money, disappear.
