Fraudulent Calls Impersonating Carabinieri Target Garda Business Owners
They pretend to be Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.
They are not soldiers, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal police force.
Recognizing scams
They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement.
Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
