Fraudulent Calls Impersonating Carabinieri Target Local Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, proposing subscriptions to magazines associated with the force.

This is not an issue of military personnel, but of fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
