The Lombardy Region has recently approved two new funding schemes to support accommodation facilities, with a total investment of 20 million euros. The regional government, upon the proposal of the Tourism Councillor, Barbara Mazzali, has made available 15 million euros through the Regional ERDF Program for the modernization and creation of sustainable, contemporary facilities. The funds are aimed at micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in the tourism sector, offering a non-repayable contribution of up to 50% of eligible expenses for projects requiring minimum investments of 80,000 euros.
Mazzali emphasized the importance of enhancing the quality of Lombardy’s hospitality to meet the increasing demands of international tourists. In addition to this main funding scheme, a 5 million euro fund has also been announced specifically for historic accommodation facilities, an initiative that has been well received by Federalberghi Brescia, highlighting the need to incentivize local hoteliers in an increasingly competitive environment. These measures represent a significant step towards boosting tourism in Lombardy and enhancing its cultural and landscape resources.
