Garda Area Fake Police Scams Targeting Businesses Prompt Warnings

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, regular police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be careful and immediately notify the Carabinieri— simply dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
