Garda Area Scam Alert: Fake Carabinieri Magazine Subscription Claims
They break into the phone contact with hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the Carabinieri.
These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune police.
Recognizing scams
They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.
Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have become the target of someone who,
who wants money, no longer shows up.
