Garda Area Scammers Impersonate Authorities to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, at different times, claim to belong to the finance police, regular police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They frequently offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the authorities.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
