Garda-area Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri for Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering magazine subscriptions from the Carabinieri.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, firefighters, or municipal police.

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after obtaining money, disappear without a trace.
