Garda Area Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazines

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not military personnel, but con artists who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.
