Garda Area Scammers Impersonate Police, Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be from the finance police, police, firefighters, or municipal police department.

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

claim to have money but then disappear from sight.
