Garda Area Scammers Impersonate Police to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopowners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who occasionally claim to belong to the finance police, the regular police, the fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.
