Garda Area Scammers Pose as Carabinieri to Target Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when phoning hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to the military’s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance agencies, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing the scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.
