General Assembly of the Garda Community

Meeting announcement and location

The General Assembly of the Garda Community will convene on Saturday, December 2, in Desenzano del Garda. At 9:30 a.m., in the Sala Brunelli of the Municipal Palace, mayors from the Garda area and presidents of member entities will gather to elect the President and seven members of the Steering Committee, which, as specified in the statute, must represent all territorial areas—Brescia, Verona, Mantua, and Trentino.

Activities during the assembly

During the assembly, the three full members and two substitute members of the Board of Auditors will be appointed.

The Assembly will be opened by the report of the outgoing President Adelio Zanelli. Then, the approval of the financial statement for 1999, the adjustment to the 2000 budget concerning the “Garda Security Project”, and subsequently the draft budget for 2001 will be discussed and approved.

Voting and appointments

After this initial part of the Assembly, voting operations will commence, and by the end of the morning, it will be possible to learn the names of the new leaders of the Garda Community for the next four-year term.

The members elected during the assembly will be accompanied, as a matter of right, by the representatives of the participating Provinces.
