Garda Fraudsters Pose as Carabinieri in Bogus Magazine Scams

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering magazine subscriptions from the army.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to Recognize Frauds

They often propose subscriptions to fake magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.
