Garda Hoteliers Targeted by Impersonator Scams Pretending to Be Carabinieri

They pretend to be Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, the police, the fire department, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

So, be careful and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
