Garda Optimist Celebrates Wins and Anticipation in Final Day of 44th Meeting

The 44th Garda Optimist Meeting concluded on Sunday after weather delays impacted the final day’s schedule. In the Cadetti fleet, Valerio Pucci from Club Nautico Marina di Carrara secured the overall victory with 28 points, despite Maurizio Domenici winning the last race. The Polish sailor Julia Saj finished third overall and was the top female competitor.

In the Juniores divisions, the final results were determined during a decisive Gold Fleet race, which was not scheduled before the deadline. Davide Veronesi from CN Bardolino claimed first place with 19 points, overtaking the leader Jesper Karlsen. The event also awarded the Foletti Prize to Konstantinos Sfronas and the ITAS Trophy to Birzebbuga Sailing Club for their top four fleet placements.
