Garda Scam Alert: Fake Carabinieri Offer Non-Existent Magazine Subs

They pose as carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to Army magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, each time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the real carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
after collecting the money, disappear without a trace.
