Garda Scammers Impersonate Authorities in Phone Subscription Frauds

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who occasionally claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement forces.
