Garda Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the central and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the genuine carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who, after collecting money, disappear without a trace.
