Garda Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the Carabinieri.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to respond

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

So be vigilant and immediately notify the real carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after collecting the money, disappear.
