Garda Scammers Impersonate Police for Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, firefighters, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the true Carabinieri — dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by someone who,
