Garda Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to the army‘s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by individuals who,

if they have money, tend to disappear.
