Garda Scammers Pose as Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

The perpetrators pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not actual military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, firefighters, or municipal police.

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or ones that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately contact the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
