Garda Scams: Fake Police Calls Targeting Hoteliers and Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to the force‘s magazines.

These are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, ordinary police, fire brigade, or to the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.
