Garda Uno Hosts Environmental Education Showcase at Villa Tassinara
“For a Better Garda” is the theme of a festival that will take place next Saturday, May 13, from 3 PM to 5 PM, at Villa Tassinara in Rivoltella, concluding the regional event EXPO Scuola-Ambiente 2000.
On this occasion, the works created by students from the Schools in the Garda area were presented and displayed as part of the activities carried out by Garda Uno as a service to the community.
This serves as a final showcase for some initiatives related to environmental education at various levels, developed in collaboration with teachers from 1st and 2nd grade schools on the Brescia side of Lake Garda.
Project Presentation and Collaboration
At the conclusion of these activities, Garda Uno wanted to offer a public session to present and communicate the educational paths undertaken.
A pilot project, carried out during this school year, coordinated by Prof. Adalberto Da Casto and in collaboration with: Meridiani di Torino (European Association for Culture) – Ing. F. Jarach; CNR – IRSS of Milan, remote sensing section – Ing. E. Zilioli; Geological and Environmental Consultancies of Riva (Trento) – Dott. V. Ceschini; Independently Association (publisher of Dipende) – arch. G. Visconti, along with other experts in various fields of education and information.
The project was structured into teaching units covering the following themes: the integrated water cycle and its energy potential; sustainable material management: waste as a resource (separate collection, alternative and renewable energy sources).
Objectives and Methods
“The emphasis was on actively engaging students by combining theory with practice, classroom exercises, and field trips,” explained the president of Azienda Speciale Garda Uno, Guido Maruelli.
“The interventions planned for each theme involved supporting and providing technical and scientific assistance to the teachers involved, according to a predefined schedule and in collaboration with the different schools.”
Invitations and Conclusions
For this final and summary moment, which is particularly meaningful for the students and their parents, all Local Authorities and Mayors of the municipalities participating in the Consorzio are invited to attend, supporting Garda Uno’s initiative aimed at becoming a catalyst for positive change within the social fabric in which it operates, focusing on environmental education and territorial protection.
