Gardaland’s SEA LIFE Aquarium Kicks Off a Week of Mediterranean Life and Sharks

Gardaland SEA LIFE Aquarium is hosting a Mediterranean-themed “Shark Week” from 8 to 14 July, with activities linked to the International Day of the Mediterranean Sea (8 July) and Shark Awareness Day (14 July). The programme targets families and children, combining entertainment with environmental education and awareness.

From 11:00 on 8, 12 and 14 July, visitors can join the interactive game “Jack Paletta’s Treasure Hunt” in the aquarium’s outdoor area (by reservation). The route follows a Mediterranean “snakes-and-ladders” style format with stops focused on marine life and the role of sharks in marine ecosystems; if weather is bad, the activity moves to the Ocean View area. At the end, participants receive a certificate, a themed gadget and information material about the EU LIFE European Sharks project. From 9 to 11 July and on 13 July, educational talks will address shark biology, ecology and behaviour, aiming to dispel myths and highlight their importance for the balance of Mediterranean ecosystems. The initiative is part of LIFE European Sharks, launched in 2023 and co-funded by the EU LIFE programme, coordinated by Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn with partners in Italy, Croatia and France. Tickets start at €10.50, and visitors can optionally donate to support SEA LIFE Trust conservation activities.
