Gardesana Road Restructuring and Reopening Discussed by Regional Council
The events surrounding the Gardesana road are on the Regional Council’s agenda. Yesterday, in fact, the president of the Comunità Montana Parco Alto Garda, Bruno Faustini, testified before the Territory Committee.
Discussion on reopening and restructuring of the road
There was talk both of reopening the road to address the hardships faced by the local population, and of restructuring the route. The center-left proposed to provide a provisional arrangement of the state highway, pending the definitive safety measures (which currently include a tunnel in Trentino territory), to ensure its passability and to give the Garda Bresciano economy a tourist season (next year) worthy of the name.
Question to the Pirellone Regional Government
The same center-left was also the protagonist, again regarding Gardesana, through a question to the Giunta del Pirellone signed by Brescia-based councilors Claudio Bragaglio, Pierangelo Ferrari, and Guido Galperti.
In the text, the three ask whether the Region intends to define a coordinated intervention to find a definitive solution for the entire Gargnano-Riva stretch, and whether the operation to restore this section has been included among the top priority public works.
Additionally, the question requests whether at least partial transitability of the current road can be guaranteed during the two years required for the tunnel construction, and proposes urging Parliament to pass a special law for Gardesana.
