Gargnano, illegal races and road safety were the focus of an intensive weekend of checks along the provincial road between Gargnano and Valvestino. This area, often a hotspot for illegal races and dangerous maneuvers by drivers and motorcyclists, saw the intervention of local police patrols in collaboration with their colleagues from Desenzano. During the operations, 24 fines were issued to drivers who had turned the road into an unauthorized circuit. Significant irregularities were uncovered: vehicles with non-compliant modifications and some vehicles subjected to administrative seizure.
The Municipality of Gargnano had already reported issues related to unauthorized gatherings, with participation from young people coming from Germany and Austria, which exacerbated the problem with risky behaviors. Law enforcement responded promptly to prevent further similar incidents. Control actions will continue in the coming days, aimed at ensuring road safety and deterring those who use mountain roads as racetracks.
