Gargnano and Lemon Groves Win Literary Award Celebrating Heritage and Landscape

Gargnano has announced the first edition of the literary award “Walking Among the Lemon Groves from Lawrence to Today,” a national contest celebrating Italian fiction and the connection between D.H. Lawrence and the local landscape. The competition, organized by the local Culture Department in partnership with Proloco and Terre & Sapori d’Alto Garda, invites contemporary authors to submit stories inspired by lemon groves, citrus production, and rural scenery, continuing Lawrence’s narrative legacy.

Submissions will be accepted from January 10 to April 30, 2026, for published works from 2023 onward, in categories for short stories and novels. The awards ceremony is scheduled for May 31, 2026, during Gargnano’s Publishing Fair, with winners receiving local accommodations, regional products, and a potential special mention for works highlighting the area’s citrus heritage.
