Gargnano has recently inaugurated the Stroblhof Active Family Spa Resort, a new luxury resort aimed at enhancing the high-end tourism offering in the region. The opening, which took place last Friday on the Formaga hill, was realized by the Pircher family, renowned entrepreneurs from South Tyrol in the hospitality sector. The new facility, which features 140 suites and a 3,000-square-meter wellness area, is expected to create nearly 100 jobs, with 70% of the employees coming from Gargnano and neighboring municipalities. Local authorities have highlighted the economic benefits for the community and the potential to diversify tourism throughout the year. However, the initiative has also sparked some criticism regarding the area’s capacity to support further tourism developments, particularly due to issues related to overtourism and land consumption. The Stroblhof is the fourth five-star hotel in Gargnano and is part of a growing trend towards luxury establishments along the Brescia Riviera of Lake Garda. With other significant openings planned in the coming years, such as the new Falkensteiner resort in Salò in 2026 and the restoration of the Grand Hotel Gardone in 2027 under LXR Hotels & Resorts, Gargnano is firmly positioning itself as a prime destination for exclusive tourism.
