Gargnano: Five Appointments From July 22 to August 12
A five-part programme of talks and a guided tour in Gargnano will run from **22 July to 12 August 2026**, focusing on events that affected Gargnano and the Lake Garda area in the final months of the Second World War. The series is curated by **Professor Bruno Festa** and includes four evening conferences, each starting at **21:00**.
The first meeting is scheduled for **22 July at 21:00** at the Garden of **Palazzo Bettoni** in Bogliaco (“**1945. Le ultime settimane di guerra**”), with an indoor venue at Palazzo Bettoni if weather is bad. On **29 July at 21:00** at the Garden of **Palazzo Feltrinelli** in Gargnano, the topic will be “**Saccheggio di documenti sul lago**”; on **5 August at 21:00** in the square of **Villa**, the talk will cover “**Cibo, requisizioni e mercato nero durante la RSI**”; and on **12 August at 21:00** at the **Brolo della Canonica**, the series concludes with “**Il Duce e il parroco**.” A guided tour, “**Ville, uffici e luoghi della RSI a Gargnano**,” takes place on **11 August at 18:30**, starting at the **Le Fontanelle** parking area and lasting about two hours; it is curated by **Cinzia Pasini** and requires booking.
Conference entry is **free until seats are filled**; for **22 and 29 July**, covered indoor locations are planned in case of bad weather. Bookings must be made by **12:00 on the working day before** each event.
