Gargnano intensifies road checks against illegal races
In Gargnano, a recent operation by law enforcement has highlighted the issue of illegal street racing along the SP 9, particularly in the stretch near the dam bridge. Last Saturday, a joint operation between the local police of Gargnano and Desenzano involved 11 officers, some of whom were in plain clothes. As a result of this initiative, 24 fines were issued, 2 driving licenses were revoked, and several vehicle registration documents were seized. The checks were conducted as part of the “Integrated Security Project,” initiated by the Prefecture to ensure greater safety in the area.
Mayor Giovanni Albini expressed satisfaction with the results achieved and confirmed that further inspections will be scheduled throughout the summer to combat illegal activities that turn the road into an underground racing circuit. The offenders, all young individuals aged between 18 and 25, engaged in dangerous behaviors that jeopardize public safety, making it necessary to implement stricter measures to address the phenomenon of illegal racing in the area.
