Gargnano Warns of Rising Healthcare Card Phishing Scams
Garda Notes reports that Carabinieri from Gargnano have issued a warning about a phishing scam circulating via email, falsely claiming to be from the Ministry of Health or Lombardy Region. The scam targets citizens with messages about the expiration of their health card, prompting recipients to click on malicious links to renew it.
The fraudulent links lead to fake websites requesting personal data, including name, tax code, address, and banking details, which are then exploited by criminals. Authorities emphasize that the health card is valid for six years and is renewed automatically without any action from the cardholder. Citizens are advised not to click on links, share personal information, respond to the email, or delete the message and report it as phishing through official channels.
