Gavardo and the Garda wastewater treatment plant: uncertain future for the Chiese river
The project for the Garda wastewater treatment plant, which was to be built in Gavardo and Montichiari, now seems to be definitively shelved. This was confirmed by the mayor of Montichiari, Marco Togni, in a Facebook post on December 5, following the TAR hearing regarding the appeals that had been filed. According to reports from the G.A.I.A., Visano Respira, and La Roccia committees, the TAR has postponed any decision until 2026, emphasizing the lack of official documentation regarding the new project proposed for Lonato, which remains merely a hypothesis without any concrete plan. The current situation highlights the absence of tangible progress on the matter, while work in the Verona area continues without issues. The committees have expressed concern over misleading interpretations that have emerged in the media regarding a potential revival of the Gavardo-Montichiari project. While awaiting a new plan that could address the needs related to the protection of the Chiese River, their calls for collaboration among local associations have gone unheard. Italian Version
