The project for the construction of an 18-hole golf course in the Daine area, above Busatte, continues to stir controversy among residents and environmental associations. The Coordination for the Protection of the Alto Garda and Ledro Environment has expressed strong concerns regarding the environmental and economic sustainability of the initiative, emphasizing that the proposed area is already subject to protective constraints and features a significant presence of historical artifacts dating back to World War I. Furthermore, the geological risk of the area and the need for water resources to maintain the course raise questions about the feasibility of the project.

The opposition is also based on the fear that the sports facility could encourage further urban development in the region, compromising access to green spaces for the local community. The Coordination has pointed out that there are currently no feasibility studies or technical projects associated with the initiative and has urged local authorities to focus on more pressing issues for the well-being of the population, stating that “Alto Garda cannot accommodate golf courses” and reiterating the importance of preserving the remaining natural landscape.
