Groppello di Calvagese: wine festival and solidarity in Valtenesi

The Groppello di Calvagese Wine Festival has already recorded around 6,000 attendees in its first three days and will continue this weekend, on September 6 and 7, for its 10th edition. The event features 17 wineries from Valtenesi and beyond, with food stands open from 7 PM and also at noon on Sunday. Among the attractions in the program are DJ Gabrix, a nighttime tractor parade, and the cover band The Four Fingers on Saturday, while Sunday will host a gathering of vintage tractors with a special appearance by Andrea Braido, former guitarist for Vasco Rossi.

Organized by the non-profit association I Gnari del Gropél, the event aims to promote local products, particularly the Groppello di Mocasina. The association’s president, Mattia Pontigia, highlighted how the funds raised over the years have enabled donations exceeding 35,000 euros to various local organizations. During the inauguration, Mayor Maria Teresa Comini praised the efforts of the volunteers and the participating associations, while regional councilor Floriano Massardi expressed gratitude towards I Gnari del Gropél for their work. This event not only celebrates the food and wine of Valtenesi but also helps to strengthen the sense of community and solidarity among participants.
