Guardia di Finanza cracks down on holiday rentals in Valcamonica and Iseo: 69 inspections, fines for tax evasion

The Guardia di Finanza in Brescia has stepped up checks on holiday homes and other accommodation facilities to combat tax evasion ahead of the summer season. The provincial operation—focused in particular on Val Camonica and Lake Iseo—has led so far to 69 inspections, which ended with administrative violations being contested.

Investigators found that in 62 cases the required SCIA (Certified Notice of Start of Activity) was missing, while in 4 cases the CIN (National Identification Code) was not displayed. Sanctions totaling €252,000 were issued and the relevant procedures were launched with the municipalities. Ongoing tax audits have reconstructed a taxable base of about €72,000 that was not reported for taxation, as part of cooperation under a protocol signed on 29 May 2026 between the Association of Brescia Municipalities, the Agenzia delle Entrate (Brescia Provincial Directorate) and the Guardia di Finanza, involving 205 municipalities.
