Guidizzolo Releases 2001 Calendar Showcasing Local History and Customs

A free distribution of the 2001 calendar is underway to all families. A few days ago, at the municipal gallery, the official presentation of the new calendar produced by the municipal administration and hobbyist collectors took place.

Description of the Calendar and the Presentation

Following the cover, which vividly reproduces the gonfalon with the coat of arms of Guidizzolo and the related presidential concession decree, are the 12 pages corresponding to the months of the year. Each page is accompanied by proverbs and short dialect rhymes (with translation) and two vintage photographs depicting local customs and work practices, now disappeared and replaced by new occupations.

It is the result of patient research among local families and frazioni to showcase a way of life that many still remember but now seems centuries away from our multimedia reality.

Distribution and Origin of the Material

Printed in 2000 copies, as previously mentioned, it will be distributed free of charge to all resident families and those who have moved elsewhere over the past decades.

The president of the hobbyist group, Giusi Nobilini, introduced the event by thanking the administration for assigning her group the task of preparing the calendar. She also expressed gratitude to all who contributed to its realization, particularly the members who committed themselves to historical research, layout, and various stages of production.

Reactions and Opinions

The mayor Maccari, who attended the presentation, expressed his complete satisfaction with the results achieved.
