The HERO Marathon World Cup 2027 will start from Lake Garda: on Saturday, May 1, 2027, the Bike Marathon Garda Trentino in Riva del Garda will open the third season of the UCI mountain bike marathon World Cup, joining the international circuit for the first time.
Riva del Garda replaces Capoliveri
The Riva del Garda race takes the place of the Capoliveri Legend on Elba Island. The marathon will take place during the Bike Festival in Riva del Garda, the exhibition event that marks the start of the mountain bike season every spring.
“We are pleased to welcome the Bike Marathon Garda Trentino to the 2027 calendar for the first time,” stated UCI President David Lappartient. For Gerhard Vanzi, head of the circuit’s organization, the World Cup is a project “capable of enhancing the marathon discipline through events of excellence.”
The five stages of 2027
The calendar includes five events across four countries, totaling 440 kilometers of racing and 16,100 meters of elevation gain:
- May 1: Bike Marathon Garda Trentino, Riva del Garda (Italy)
- May 30: Naturland, Andorra
- June 12: HERO Südtirol Dolomites, Selva di Val Gardena (Italy)
- July 25: Black Forest ULTRA Bike Marathon, Kirchzarten (Germany)
- September 19: La Tramun Sea Otter Europe, Girona (Spain)
The final will once again be in Girona, on the Costa Brava.
