Hiker rescue in Toscolano Maderno on Mount Pizzoccolo
A hike on Mount Pizzoccolo, located in the municipality of Toscolano Maderno, turned into a critical incident for a 63-year-old hiker who suffered a medical emergency yesterday, Saturday, June 28. The incident occurred at an altitude of 1,450 meters, where the man’s condition may have been caused by heatstroke. The situation necessitated the prompt intervention of emergency services, activated by the Soreu delle Alpi operations center.
The Alpine Rescue team from the Valle Sabbia station dispatched three technicians to the scene, and due to the severity of the situation, air rescue from Brescia was also alerted. The helicopter quickly reached the location of the incident and transported the hiker to the hospital for necessary treatment. During the operations, the Firefighters and Carabinieri also collaborated, providing essential support to the teams working on the ground.
