Hiking incident in Bardolino: 76-year-old rescued by mountain rescue
An incident occurred on Saturday afternoon involving a 76-year-old man from Bardolino, who required the intervention of the Verona Alpine Rescue. The hiker, while traversing trail 279 with a friend, lost his bearings and found himself in a steep wooded area. During his descent, in an attempt to grab onto a tree for balance, it gave way, causing him to slide approximately 15 meters down the slope.
Immediately after the accident, his companion alerted the emergency services. A helicopter from Verona Emergenza quickly arrived on the scene, deploying medical personnel and a mountain rescue technician to provide initial care to the injured man, who sustained multiple traumas. Meanwhile, four additional rescuers were airlifted to the site to assist with the recovery operations using a winch. Subsequently, the 76-year-old was transported to the hospital for further examination and medical treatment.
