The Lombardy Region has recently awarded the title of historical activity to 591 commercial, artisanal, and catering establishments that have been operating for over forty years, of which 121 are located in the province of Brescia. Among these, 35 are businesses supported by Confesercenti of Eastern Lombardy, which participated in the application and enhancement process. This recognition is reserved for shops and venues that have maintained their signage and merchandise type for at least four decades, showcasing significant historical elements such as original furnishings and historic locations. With these new assignments, the total number of historical activities in the province rises to 687.
Andrea Maggioni, the Confesercenti representative for the Lake Garda area, emphasized the economic and cultural importance of the businesses around Lake Garda, highlighting how many have managed to endure over time despite modern challenges. Historical activities not only provide products and services but also represent authentic experiences that increasingly attract tourists seeking genuine contact with the territory. Furthermore, the recognition allows the businesses listed in the regional register to access significant grants and incentives.
