In Desenzano del Garda, on June 21 and 22, 2025, a historical reenactment dedicated to the Battle of San Martino and Solferino, one of the pivotal moments of the Italian Risorgimento, will take place. The event, set in the Laghetto Park – Oriana Fallaci, is organized by the Cultural Association Rievocazione Imperi with the support of local authorities and will involve approximately 120 reenactors from various regions of Italy and France. Participants will recreate scenes from the Second War of Italian Independence, offering the public the chance to visit historical camps, witness military drills, and immerse themselves in a living representation of history.
Additionally, on June 21, the Grand Gala of Italian Unity will be held within the San Martino Monumental Park, featuring performances by artists from La Scala Theatre. This event will be enhanced by the presence of His Royal Highness Aimone of Savoy Aosta and will evoke an 19th-century atmosphere through the costumes and music selected for the occasion. Cultural Councillor Pietro Avanzi emphasized the cultural significance of the initiative as an opportunity to reflect on our national history and Italian identity.
