Homerus School Hosts Seminar on Match Racing with Renowned Experts

In recent weeks, thanks to the historic achievement of Luna Rossa in the eliminatory and final phases of the America’s Cup, Italians have rediscovered themselves as a nation of sailors, and terms like “ore,” “r המא,” “baking,” and “spinnaker” are now familiar to everyone.

Meanwhile, the students of Homerus, the school for the blind dedicated to sailing, have long been familiar with the sport; they learn the art of navigating through rigorous theoretical and practical lessons.

Despite this, they wish to delve even deeper into the issues surrounding match racing—the head-to-head regattas made famous precisely by the America’s Cup.

Seminar on Racing

For this reason, the management of Homerus has organized a seminar on this topic to be held on Saturday, February 26, at 2 PM at the Circolo vela Gargnano headquarters.

Participants will include the race judge Roberto Armellin, Gianluca Vangelista (race judge and former president of the Yacht club Acquafresca di Brenzone), as well as the former tactician of the Moro di Venezia and internationally renowned skipper Tommaso Chieffi.
