A raid by the PASI Division of the State Police has uncovered a case of illegal gambling in Lonato del Garda, where a minor was caught placing bets on a virtual event. Officers found the boy as he was leaving the betting hall with a receipt in hand, violating regulations that prohibit minors from accessing such establishments. During the inspection, it was also revealed that an employee lacked the mandatory training required to interact with at-risk gambling customers.
Due to these irregularities, administrative fines totaling over 8,000 euros were imposed, divided into two reports: one for 6,666.67 euros for allowing the minor access, and the other for 1,666.67 euros for the absence of the required training certificate. The reports will be sent to the Customs and Monopolies Agency, which may decide to temporarily suspend the betting hall’s operations. Authorities have announced that inspections in the area will continue in the coming days to ensure the protection of young people and combat the issue of minor gambling.
