A medical emergency in the water affected a 20-year-old today, Thursday, May 1st, at the Sabbioni beach in Riva del Garda. The alert was raised around 5:45 PM when the young man, after entering the lake to retrieve a ball, experienced a health issue likely caused by the temperature shock between the cold water and the warm summer air. Friends present on the beach quickly intervened to assist him.
Fortunately, the emergency medical services were already on-site due to the presence of a medical point set up for the Bike Festival. The young man was airlifted to the hospital, where he will receive the necessary treatment. His condition is still being monitored, but at the moment, no further complications have been reported.
