Impostors Impersonate Carabinieri to Scam Garda Hoteliers and Shops

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to army-affiliated magazines.

These are not members of the military, but impostors who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by those who,
